Landscape strategy

Art for Life, with support from the Hospital Environment and Design Group (HEAD) worked with designers Tonkin Liu on the development of a high quality landscape design strategy for the site.

The landscape strategy provided a clear framework that enables the Trust to create and deliver an overall vision for the outside areas of the site. The strategy helped to enhance the green spaces around the Trust to offer inspiring views and places to relax, reflect, exercise, socialise or spend time away from the hustle and bustle of the busy hospital environment.

The concept created, “Colour Stroll”, has three main characteristics: Colour gardens, Choreographed routes, and Surprise encounters. Work on delivering the landscape strategy has started with the creation of a red garden outside Queens Building which was completed in early 2018.
