It’s not unusual to feel this way and you may find it helpful to try some of the techniques that we have available here.

Try and pick up the phone and speak to someone who can help you, this could be a friend or family member or one of the services listed below. This person will try and help you by being compassionate, taking your situation seriously and not judging you. It’s important to link into services where you’ll find the right support for you, these services below are widely recognised for the support that they offer.

Grass Roots – Preventing Suicide Together – This booklet produced by Grassroots contains helpful information for people who are feeling suicidal and people supporting them, and is a leaflet version of their Stay Alive App.

Staying Safe – This site provides vital ‘safety plan’ tools and guidance to help people cope with emotional distress. It also offers ways to help keep people safer from thoughts of harm and suicide, seek support and discover hope of recovery through powerful videos from people with personal experience.
