Medicines In Pregnancy

When taking a prescribed medicine or medicine from a pharmacy / shop during pregnancy, it’s important to find out about the possible effects of that medicine on your baby.

Always ask your GP doctor or pharmacy before taking any medicine.

You should avoid:

  • aspirin,
  • ibuprofen,
  • NSAIDs,
  • isotretinoin,
  • sodium valproate,
  • anti-migraine drugs,
  • oral anticoagulants, and
  • some anti-depressants.

Do not stop taking any medication for your mental health without talking to your specialist or GP doctor first.
