Musculoskeletal physiotherapy

Musculoskeletal physiotherapy

We can help you if you have an injury, disease or disorder in your bones, joints, ligaments, tendons or muscles. We can also help you in managing continence problems, arthritis, vertigo and pain.

Who is eligible?

Our service looks after you if you are an adult or child over eight years old.

Please note, we cannot help you if you have problems with your nervous system, breathing or you need rehabilitation after a fall – please speak with your GP who will be able to refer you to the right place for these problems.

The team

Our team is made up of physiotherapists, osteopaths, exercise instructors and university students who work with us as part of their training. We work closely with a range of others such as GPs, podiatrists and consultants specialising in orthopaedics, rheumatology, pain management and radiology (for X-rays and scans). Our team can also provide cognitive behavioural therapy and injection therapy where needed.

Where is this service?

Patients are seen in a variety of locations across Somerset, including community hospital sites, minor injury units, clinics and some GP surgeries.

How to book appointments

To be seen by a physiotherapist you will need to be referred by your GP/FCP (First Contact Practitioner) at your surgery, a consultant or other health care professional.  They will give you details for how to go about booking an initial appointment with our service.

We do not accept self-referrals to the Physiotherapy service.
