Musculoskeletal physiotherapy

Our vision

Empowering the people of Somerset to achieve lifelong musculoskeletal health and well-being through compassionate, personalised and evidence-based rehabilitation.

The team

The team is made up of physiotherapists, osteopaths, exercise instructors and university students who work in the team as part of their training.  They work closely with a range of others such as GPs, first contact practitioners (FCP), podiatrists and consultants specialising in orthopaedics, rheumatology, pain management and radiology (for X-rays and scans).  The team can also provide hydrotherapy, cognitive behavioural therapy and injection therapy where needed, as well as access to exercise classes, such as ESCAPE Pain and ACL rehab.

Who is eligible?

The service is available to you if you are over the age of 8 and presenting with a musculoskeletal condition.

For those presenting with any conditions regarding your nervous system or breathing, please speak with your GP who will be able to refer you to the right service.

How to book appointments

To be seen by the MSK service you can be referred by your GP/FCP at your surgery, a consultant or other health care professional. They will give you details for how to book an initial appointment with this service.
