Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a disorder of the brain and spinal cord. It can cause various motor and sensory symptoms. In most cases, episodes of symptoms come and go at first for several years. In time, some symptoms can become permanent and can cause disability.
Although there is no cure for multiple sclerosis, medicines and therapies may reduce the number of flare-ups and can help to ease symptoms and disability.
As each person’s journey with multiple sclerosis is different, so too is the care and management that you may require. We are here to help you to live well, to provide clinical care as well as advice, support and education to patients, families living with Multiple Sclerosis.
Multiple sclerosis clinical nurse specialist runs clinics at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton, Dene Barton Community Unit, and Bridgwater Community Hospital which provide assessment, lifestyle advice, support and help with managing your symptoms of multiple sclerosis.

Your GP will be able to refer you to the service using the e-referrals system. Once you have been referred you will receive the necessary paperwork in the post to enable you to book your appointment.
