Occupational therapists (OT’s) in primary care work alongside all of the professionals you are used to seeing within your GP surgery but our focus is a little different.
We want to know what matters to you and how the challenges you may be facing in completing this is impacting you. We know that getting support early on when your health changes is important.
We will give you time to talk about the difficulties you are experiencing and offer practical support, education and advice to help you manage your health and be able to do the things that you need or want to do (your occupations). We work with you to examine the relationship between these occupations, your routine, roles and interests, the challenges you face and the environment, then we work together with you and relevant health care professionals to develop a treatment plan.
