Clinical Oncologist
This is a consultant who is a specialist in radiotherapy and chemotherapy. They will be responsible for prescribing and supervising your course of treatment. You may see your consultant, or a member of their team, when your treatment is being planned. You may also be seen by them during treatment in the outpatient clinic.
Consultant Radiographers
The consultant radiographers have trained and practiced in delivering radiotherapy treatment, who have gone on to study and specialize in a particular area working closely with the clinical oncologists. We have four Consultant Radiographers, who specialize in Urology, Breast, Palliative and Late Effects of Radiotherapy.
Radiographers
Therapy radiographers are specially trained to use the equipment required to plan and deliver radiotherapy. They will see you daily throughout your treatment. You may be treated by male or female radiographers. They are able to help you with most of your treatment questions or any problems you may have.
Assistant Practitioners
Assistant practitioners work alongside the therapy radiographers. They are specially trained to deliver treatments and carry out other duties such as taking blood samples.
Medical Physicists
Physicists (scientists) and technicians work together to plan your treatment. They make up your individual treatment plan and are also responsible for the safety, accuracy and reliability of the treatment machines.
