We are based at Dene Barton Hospital in Cotford St Luke, a small village on the outskirts of Taunton. Patients can enjoy a quiet and calm rehabilitation environment in a rural setting, with a local shop and amenities close by.
We have 10 beds and patients will have individual room with a sink and have access to large day room, physiotherapy gym, therapy kitchen and patio garden.
There is a hydrotherapy pool on the hospital site which patients from SNRC can access when appropriate as part of their physiotherapy plan.
You will be allocated a key worker who will serve as a link between you and your family and our specialist multi-disciplinary team. They will help you and your family set goals and keep everyone up-to-date with your progress and discharge plans.
We will set a date for your discharge soon after you are admitted and hold family meetings as needed to update you and your family on your rehabilitation. The majority of patients we admit are discharged to their own homes, but we will support those unable to return home to find an alternative placement.
Our specialist multidisciplinary team meets weekly to discuss each patient’s rehabilitation. The medical team carry out regular ward rounds.
You will be provided with a therapy timetable each week, which shows the time and duration of therapy sessions. These sessions could be with a qualified therapist, a rehabilitation assistant or as part of a group.
