Vascular Surgery

The Somerset and North Devon Vascular Network delivers vascular services to Somerset and North Devon dealing with with diseases affecting the vascular system, including diseases of the arteries, veins and lymphatic vessels.

Conditions treated:

• Peripheral arterial disease
• Abdominal aortic aneurysms
• Carotid artery disease (endarterectomy)
• Venous disease
• Leg ulcer
• Diabetic foot disease.

All major arterial interventions are performed at Musgrove Park Hospital with clinics also provided at other sites throughout Somerset and in North Devon.

The service is supported and delivered by a team of specialist surgeons, radiologists, anaesthetists, medical doctors, specialist nurses, vascular scientists and podiatrists at each of our network hospitals. In addition the network is supported in the community by specialist nurses and podiatrists.

Out-patient clinics are delivered throughout the vascular network and are located:

• Musgrove Park Hospital Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
• Yeovil Hospital Monday and Thursday
• North Devon District Hopsital Tuesday and Thursday
• Bridgwater and Bideford Hospitals Every other Wednesday
• Burnham-on-Sea, Chard, Minehead and West Mendip Hospitals Twice monthly

• Recalcitrant leg ulcer clinic (Musgrove Park Hospital)
• Multidisciplinary Diabetic Foot Clinic (Musgrove Park, Yeovil and North Devon District Hospitals)
• Specialist Vascular Pre-operative Assessment Clinic (Musgrove Park Hospital)
