Ward 9

Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton

If you have blood cancer or a blood disorder, you will be treated on ward 9. We give chemotherapy and stem cell infusions and we treat you here if you have neutropenia (abnormally low level of neutrophils, a type of white blood cell, which makes you extremely vulnerable to a serious infection). Patients on Ward 9 typically stay for about a month and we work hard to make sure you are as comfortable as possible.

Visiting Times: Visitors are welcome between 10am to 9pm – seven days a week. If you have relatives who wish to visit or stay outside of normal visiting times please discuss this with the nursing team. Given that patients will have suppressed immune systems and will be vulnerable to infection, please don’t visit if you have a cough or cold or any other infection.

Number of visitors to a bed: For the safety and comfort of all our patients we restrict visitors to 2 at a time, but do ask the nursing team if more visitors need to come in.
