Employment Advice and Support

Employment and mental health are closely linked.  Whether it's finding work, staying in work, returning after a career break or long-term sickness, our employment advisors can offer impartial support alongside your therapy to help you address your practical work-related issues. This support is offered on an individual, one-one, basis. Your employment advisor will talk to you about your situation and tailor their approach to see how they can help you best. Referral to our Employment Advisors can only be made if  you are accepted into the service

The employment advice service is a complimentary non-clinical support service to help patients using talking therapies, to address work-related issues. The service is designed to offer practical support and solutions for any work barriers or goals  which can include unemployment, in-work issues, and returning to work (often after sick leave).

Referral to our Employment Advisors can only be made if  you are accepted into the service

Patients using the service will be allocated an employment advisor. They will provide specialist, tailored support offering information, advice and guidance for any employment goals or issues.  The employment advice service is only offered to patients using talking therapies. Evidence suggests that working towards employment goals, or resolving work-related issues can contribute to improved recoveries from common mental health conditions. Patients will be offered one-to-one sessions to be carried out every 2 weeks, and can be face to face, over the phone, or by video call. Employment advice is a voluntary addition to therapy, you do not need to take part if you don’t want to.
