Perinatal Wellbeing

The Horizon Perinatal Course is a specialist course, providing support to parents who are struggling with low mood and/or anxiety either during pregnancy or during the postnatal period.

The course will give you the opportunity to meet and connect with other parents who are also struggling and each week the facilitators will provide you with information, skills and strategies to help you manage and improve how you are feeling. These skills and techniques are based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

Techniques covered include:

  • Managing symptoms of low mood, anxiety, stress and worry
  • Relaxation and mindfulness techniques
  • Identifying unhelpful thoughts and learning to manage them
  • Assertiveness and techniques to improve communication with those around you so that it is easier to get support
  • Problem solving techniques

 

The sessions are run every week for 2 hours and each course lasts for 7 weeks.

The next groups  start on :

  • Tuesday 21st Jan 10-12
  • Tuesday 25th March 10-12

The course is run by two Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWP) with support from a Health Visitor and is ran online via Teams. Babies are welcome to attend with you.
