Courses

Anxiety and depression are often lonely experiences which isolate us from other people. Talking Therapies offers treatment via courses and webinars (ie. online courses) when your initial assessment suggests this may be the best way to help.

About our courses

Our courses are based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and support people to recognise the relationship between their thoughts, feelings and behaviours and teach them skills to overcome these difficulties.

The courses are facilitated by two members of staff who will guide you through session materials.

How might attending a group benefit me?

  • We run groups regularly, meaning sometimes the waiting time can be shorter than for individual treatment
  • Group sessions are longer in duration compared to one-to-one sessions, meaning more clinical time, information and resources
  • Hearing others experience similar difficulties can help us feel less isolated, help us learn from each other and gather different perspectives and solutions to difficulties
  • Nobody is forced to talk or share their experiences in such treatments. Sessions are psycho education classes’ and attending these in the company of other people who feel similarly can be a rich and rewarding experience
  • Lots of our courses are run in the evening so you won’t need to take time off of work to attend
  • They’re accessible; for our online courses, all you need is an e-mail address and access to the internet (this could be via a tablet or PC)
  • They’re interactive; You will have the opportunity to ask questions and share ideas and you will also be sent a workbook to use alongside the course.
