SESSION 1: An Introduction to the mental health-physical health connection. The impact and experience of having a long-term health condition, and an introduction to CBT and goal setting.
SESSION 2: We explore the changes to our behaviours that have occurred as a result of mental/physical health, and how to make positive behavioural changes.
SESSION 3: We have a session on managing anxiety. We go through information about anxiety, and introduce different techniques such as breathing techniques, mindfulness, and strategies to manage worry.
SESSION 4: We explore negative thinking, and introduce unhelpful thinking styles, illness beliefs and how to challenge these thoughts. We also discuss how to be more compassionate with ourselves.
SESSION 5: We discuss anger and frustration, and how to manage this. We discuss how to manage overthinking, and we explain how to communicate more effectively.
SESSION 6: We summarise all the tools learnt so far, and how to manage wellbeing moving forwards.
